Lihaga is a combination of the beautiful island and clean and fresh beaches. Moreover, Lihaga is inhibited island so you can feel its origin and find yourself a perfect private holiday. Lihaga is surrounded by white sandy beaches with the blue water which become the main attraction for tourists. However, you need some efforts to reach this paradise. It is not difficult, though, since the accommodation is provided here.

1. How to get to Lihaga?

Lihaga is located two hours away from Manado, the capital of the Northern Sulawesi province. You need to get the route to Serei village at Likupang which is 90 minutes from Manado. The way to Serei is smooth and easy, you just need head away to Bitung and pass the Sutan Raja Hotel.  Then, go ahead to Airmadidi T-junctions. There you wil see the direction board to Serei, Likupang.

From Serei, continue your trip 40 minutes to Lihaga island by using local fishing boats from Serei port. Actually, there are two kinds of boats, the one with a low roof for 15 people (IDR 1,000,000) or the one without a roof for 20 people (IDR 600,000). Don’t worry though, they go to the same direction.

After arriving at Lihaga, you will completely forget the two hour-trip since the beauty of the virgin island will charm you with its magic. Entering this island is also affordable, just prepare IDR 20,000 for each person! Before you land, it is better for you to sail around the island so you can see the overall beauty of the island which you may not find at the other tourism destination.

2. What's inside Lihaga?

As mentioned before, the white sands, the clean blue water and the greeny island itself is the beauty. You might not find the native tribes here since it is inhibited, but you still can find the toilets and some changing rooms provided for your beachy activities there. Even there is a big wooden building for free staying a day or over night. Perhaps you just need to bring many foods to supply your energy there because there is no food seller walking around to offer food and drinks.

3. What things to do in Lihaga?

It's a bit similar to the activities you can do in Bunaken Marine Park. Snorkeling and scuba diving are still the best choice after swimming and sunbathing. The difference is you have to provide your own snorkeling equipment because this place does not provide it as well as the tents. The snorkeling and scuba diving will be fun since it is only 2 meters deep to see the soft coral and touch them.

If you love riding jet ski, it is also recommended. Unfortunately, it is not provided yet. Usually the foreign tourists ride it themselves from Bunaken. This island is also the paradise for photographers due to its beauty. You will see they stroll around and capture many pictures of Lihaga. You can do too, prepare you memory card space to have huge storage for capturing the moments in Lihaga island. There is hard coral reef which is great for taking selfie. Just explore around!
